Young Professionals (in shipping) Melbourne (YPM)

If you are under 35 years of age and working in the Shipping or Maritime industry in Melbourne and wish to mix with more of your age group in the industry then you should join our YPM group. The YPM group meets on a regular basis to engage in social and information sessions. If you want more information then please contact our Secretariat.

We are also looking for a keen and enthusiastic ICS member to become the chair-person for this YPM group. We recently said goodbye to Michelle Ballard who had headed up the YPM group since its inception. Michelle moved overseas and with that our Branch has lost a valuable member. We hope to fill the chair role soon to keep up the great momentum achieved in 2009. If you have interest in this role then please contact our Secretariat.

 

Australia Arbitration Commission (AMTAC) and MLAANZ Arbitration Panel

The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Australia & New Zealand Branch was one of the foundation members of the Australian Maritime and Transport Arbitration Commission (AMTAC). AMTAC's objectives are to support and facilitate both international and domestic arbitration and mediation in respect of maritime and transport disputes and to promote Australia and the region as a recognised leader in maritime and transport scholarship, maritime affairs and commercial maritime dispute resolution.

There are 3 documents attached concerning the formation of the
Australian Maritime and Transport Arbitration Commission (AMTAC) and the Maritime Law Association of Australia and New Zealand (MLAANZ) Arbitration Panel.  Members interested in sitting on the Arbitration Panel may apply.  Please forward your application to Ron Salter at Phillips Fox.
